A colourful new kitchen for 2020…

Over the past few years the trend for colour in the kitchen has been one of more muted shades.

Many stylish Italian kitchens have been designed with a predominantly minimal palette of greys and neutrals, whilst handcrafted British kitchens have tended to be painted in more traditional colours such as cream or off white.

Often chosen to blend into an overall more classically styled space, and frequently picked to co-ordinate with an Aga or ESSE range cooker colour option, handcrafted British made kitchens have typically been painted in heritage shades.

Colour is back!

But, as the trend for painted kitchens has moved to more exciting palettes, so too have manufacturers such as ESSE, diversifying their colour offering to include more bright and varied shades. Leading paint manufacturer Farrow and Ball has recently announced its predictions for 2020, with colour definitely having a resurgence in popularity.

Green with envy?

Shades such as ‘Duck Green’, almost evergreen in appearance, and Ash Grey, a tone sitting somewhere between green and taupe are both considered hot favourites.

Whilst each is sophisticated in its own right, their tones lend themselves to being used together too!

Neutral shades never tire!

‘Setting Plaster’ is another colour that Farrow and Ball is predicting be a popular choice in 2020. As its name suggests, it’s an earthy mix of pale brown and pink. Whilst subtle in appearance, it has enough depth of shade, making it an ideal choice for a contrasting centre island unit.

Grey Modern kitchen

Grey— a timeless choice…

Like ‘Setting Plaster’, ‘Pigeon’ is another shade that truly reflects its namesake. Somewhere in the middle ground between grey and green, this alluring colour is a fabulous choice to create a statement in a kitchen.

Blue Accent Kitchen Design

A blue kitchen in 2020?

The last couple of years has seen ‘Hague Blue’ become the must have painted kitchen colour, used for all units or with a contrasting colour such as off white.

Whilst it is certainly still a very popular choice, ‘Stiffkey Blue’ (pronounced ‘stoo-key’) looks set to take over!

Inspired by the blue clays that make up some of the British coastal landscape, and the blue tones found in mussel shells, it’s a shade that is erring towards navy rather than petrol blue.

CREATE A BOLD STATEMENT IN YOUR KITCHEN, REGARDLESS OF ITS SIZE!

Whatever colour you settle for, be it a classic cream or soft green hand painted kitchen, or a super chic Italian kitchen featuring a mixture of woodgrains, glass or textures, you can be sure that you’re buying both exceptional quality and a fabulous design service with a new kitchen from Ray Munn!
