A rainbow of colourful kitchen ideas…

Over recent months, the rainbow has been a symbol of hope and better days to come, along with being an iconic representation of the tireless work of the NHS and the nations’ support and gratitude of all the NHS staff.

As the days get shorter and the temperature drops, we all need a bit of colour in our lives. Our homes, and the security they offer, have become our sanctuary. Frequently referred to as the heart of the home, for many the kitchen has become the hub of everyday living! Along with being a place to cook, eat and entertain, it’s become a temporary home office, or simply a chill out zone! Whilst most people have previously tended to opt for a kitchen in a pared back colour scheme, with neutral or grey cabinets, since lockdown, there has been a surge in the popularity of choosing a kitchen in a bright and vibrant colour! It’s now possible to have virtually any colour of kitchen, especially as manufacturers such as Davonport will paint your kitchen in a bespoke shade. Likewise, Italian manufacturers such as Arredo 3 offer so much choice in terms of doorstyle, finish and colourway, there literally is a rainbow of colours to choose from!

Dare to go red!

Red as a colour is thought to evoke anger, so maybe not the best choice for the ‘frustrated’ chef! But with so many variations, from bright shades such as post box red, to claret and burgundy, a few units in this vibrant shade really set a kitchen alive!

white and gray with red accent

An orange twist?

Like red, the spectrum of orange shades is diverse. It’s an accent colour that’s certain to ‘lift’ the overall scheme, and is a fabulous complementary colour with subtle woodgrains and charcoal grey.

Yellow Vibrant in any Kitchen

The power of ‘sunshine’ yellow…

Bringing all round cheeriness, yellow is a vibrant addition in any kitchen! Even just a ‘pop’ of colour here and there is sure to warm up the dullest of days, and works equally well with dark units or white gloss cabinets!

Traditional Farmhouse Kitchen

Be the envy of your neighbours with green!

Green is a sure fire way of bringing outside ‘in’. It’s a great colour choice for a traditional farmhouse kitchen, especially by mixing heritage green shades, or in a contemporary setting, where shades such as pistachio or lime look really cool!

Blue Classic Kitchen

Don’t be blue with blue!

Blue is one of the most diverse of all the colours in the rainbow. With lighter shades ranging from sky and duck egg, mid tones of striking cobalt blue and petrol, to Hague blue and navy, there really is a whole spectrum of colours just in this one shade! A classic kitchen looks salubrious in a deeper shade, whilst a brighter blue gives contemporary appeal.

Indigo Modular Style Kitchen

Indigo…

This colour often gets lost in the ‘blue category’. It’s a distinct shade, that as you would expect due to its position in the rainbow, tends to have purple undertones. Minimal and chic, it’s sure to make a statement in any modular styled kitchen where there’s plenty of natural daylight.

Violet Modern Kitchen

Violet…

Not necessarily the most obvious choice for a kitchen, violet, or indeed any shade of purple is sure to get noticed! It’s an ostentatious shade that needs to be balanced by an equally dramatic feature, such as an opulent chandelier or decadent splashback.

Whatever colour of kitchen you are considering, you can be certain that the designers at Ray Munn Kitchens know a thing or two about interiors! After all, it’s their specialty and a skill that they have acquired over many, many years. In fact, it’s just one of the many reasons that we would always recommend using an established kitchen showroom.

So, if you’re looking for a new kitchen, oozing with colour and creativity, be sure to get in touch and let Ray Munn Kitchens help you to realise the kitchen of your dreams!
